You can now spot SQL Server replication issues and keep an eye on Change Data Capture (CDC) and SQL Server Agent jobs in the same place as your query performance. SQL Server monitoring in Atatus collects these metrics through the Atatus Infrastructure Agent.
Agent 4.0.0 added replication metrics and SQL Server Agent jobs, and agent 4.2.0 adds advanced replication, CDC and peer-to-peer replication metrics. Update the agent to 4.2.0 or later. The SQL Server setup docs cover the read-only login and configuration.
What you can do
- Replication metrics: Collect replication metrics for SQL Server, as Atatus already does for MySQL and PostgreSQL.
- Advanced and peer-to-peer replication: Agent 4.2.0 adds metrics for advanced replication and for peer-to-peer replication.
- Change Data Capture: Agent 4.2.0 also collects CDC metrics for databases that use Change Data Capture to record table changes.
- SQL Server Agent jobs: Monitor SQL Server Agent jobs on SQL Server 2016 and later. The Atatus login needs read access to
msdb. - One view of SQL Server: Review replication and job data in the same product as the slow queries, execution plans, wait events and deadlocks Atatus collects for SQL Server.
